About Pocket Fidelity

Pocket Fidelity reports news about portable audio: digital audio players, dongle DACs, portable amps, IEMs, headphones and the Bluetooth gear in between. It covers big brands and small ones, including the many Chinese makers whose launches often appear in English late, if at all.

What you’ll find here

• Launches, with the specs and the price as announced, converted to other currencies where it helps.
• Leaks, teasers and certification filings, clearly labelled as unconfirmed until a brand confirms them.
• Firmware updates, with links to each maker’s own changelog.
• What isn’t known yet. Stories say what’s still missing, and they’re updated when important details arrive.

Every story is dated and lists its sources, so you can check them yourself. When a story was first reported somewhere else, it says where.

What you won’t find

No reviews, for now. I won’t describe how a product sounds unless I’ve listened to it myself, and the story will say so. No sponsored posts, no pop-ups and no autoplaying video.

Independence

Pocket Fidelity is independent: no brand, retailer or distributor owns any part of it or pays for coverage. Every story is edited by me, Matt Warnes. How stories are sourced explains where the news comes from and how it’s checked.

How it’s paid for

At the moment Pocket Fidelity has no income: no ads, no affiliate links and no sponsors. If that changes, ads will be clearly separate from the stories, affiliate links will be labelled next to the links themselves, and the affiliate disclosure will list the programmes involved. Advertisers and affiliate partners will never get a say in what’s covered.
