I’m Matt Warnes, and I run Pocket Fidelity from Australia.
I’ve been into portable audio and hi-fi for about two years. Most of the fun for me has been following what’s coming next: new players, new DAC chips, small brands appearing out of nowhere with something interesting. The news was always scattered across forums, Chinese social media and brand pages, and often reached English late or without a source. I started Pocket Fidelity in late 2026 to put it in one place, properly dated and sourced.
What I use
Fairly modest gear: a FiiO JM21 player, a Topping E30 DAC at my desk and a TE-C USB DAC. I’m not a reviewer, and this site doesn’t review products. It reports news, and every story links to where the facts came from.
How I work
I use AI tools for research, collecting news and leaks from international outlets across the web. I check every story against its sources, edit it and decide whether it’s published. My name is on everything because I’m responsible for all of it. There’s more on how stories are sourced.
